Be the Team Member You Want on Your Team
Dear Leader,
I trust this letter meets you in pursuit of growth.
As you go ahead with your work this week, I like you to make a conscious effort to be the kind of team member you wish you had.
Many of us make the mistakes that some of our parents make. Most parents are the “do what I say, not what I do” kind of people.
If we must become better leaders, we have to be different. You can’t expect people to do what you say and not what you do. It won’t work because people naturally do what people see.
So, if you want to work with dedicated, thoughtful and productive people on your team, then you must model those characteristics.
Take the time to list all the qualities you desire from your team members and start comparing your own personal qualities to those lists. Anywhere you don’t measure up, write an action plan in front of it, stating what you must do to possess the trait you would like to see.
We attract who we are!
It all begins with you.
I’m rooting for you,
Great Owete
