How to Make Impact
Dear Leader,
Happy New Week.
I trust this meets you in pursuit of wisdom.
One of the things I have learnt about jump-starting your career is “never take anything for granted”.
You must understand that through your works you are always creating a perception about you and the values you represent. You must understand that your leadership in your space must be earned and established by your words and your works - and it is solely your responsibility.
To do this, you will have to be dissatisfied in a way, and what I mean by this is that you cannot afford to be comfortable with your current level of delivery. You can always be and do better.
In your organisation, you must strive to keep the people you work with and the organisation you work for, moving forward towards a vision and/or the mission. You must be willing to give up what you are used to so that you can reach towards what could be.
So here is my thought in summary for the week: Keep in front of you always a vision for “making a difference” in the lives of the people you work with, the organisation you work for, and the customer you serve. You must place this above the confines of your job descriptions and petty rules.
Here is a quote I heard yesterday and I want you to save it:
“If you are living for yourself, you are small” - Rev. Nathan Ikenria, 2024
You make an impact when you live beyond yourself.
It is time. Make this week count by making an impact.
I am rooting for you,
Great Owete
